To see if you are using the latest version, follow the steps below in the Outlook on the web client:Īt the top right corner of the page, click the gear icon to open the Settings option. Note: If the Report Spam/Phish add-in is not working, make sure you are using the latest version. It will also be moved to your "Deleted Items" folder.

To report a spam/phishing message that was not delivered to your Junk Email folder (click on the plus sign to expand the specific client section) Furthermore, there is a limit to the number of addresses that can be added to your Blocked Senders at which point the Blocked Senders tool will no longer function. Do not use the "Junk" or "Mark as junk" features in any Outlook client as this process will create an automatic rule within your account to deliver future emails from this specific "From" address to your Junk Email folder - because most spam senders change their "From" address frequently, this additional step is usually not an effective way to block spam. The recommended method for reporting spam/phishing messages via any Microsoft Outlook client is to use the "Report Spam/phishing" link as described below. Note: you can attach more than one junk email when forwarding a message to us. To report a message as spam, forward the message as an attachment to or use the "To report a message that has been misclassified as spam manually" instructions below. However, it is still possible to report the message as spam/phishing, so that UW-Madison's spam/phishing filtering system can adjust to catch similar messages in the future. If you are using any non-Microsoft supported email client (e.g., Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Android/iOS native mail, etc.) or an older version of Outlook (2007/2010), you will not see the "Report Spam/Phishing" link within the toolbar/ribbon. The "Report spam" add-in is only supported within modern Outlook clients.

Click on the three dots located at the bottom right of the add-in and select Remove.Scroll down until you see the add-in labelled " Report Spam.".Click Get more add-ins - you will be redirected to your add-ins.Expand the "Report Spam" section by clicking it.Double click on any message to open it in a new window.
